Subject: Next Chapter

Dear Friends of Summer and 2011,

Here's wishing you the best days of your life in 2012. I'm signing off on this email and can be reached now on FACEBOOK, a weekly update that I will personally write and Twitter whenever I can, and Oprah.com.

I’ve enjoyed chatting with many of you, but of course cannot respond to all. And enough of you have let me know you don't appreciate an email replied to ALL. So this will be the last one of those.

I've been traveling the country doing NEXT CHAPTER which premieres Sunday Jan 1st at 9 pm. Enjoying this new phase of just talking to whomever holds my interest and hopefully yours too.

On Sunday, I get to play with Steven Tyler at his lake side home in New Hampshire. Talking about fun stuff like "how do you remain monogamous when fans are greeting you with their panties on their heads"?

And can you be humble and still be a rock star, or is it all an ego game?

He was surprisingly honest and a hoot to hang with.

We're now good textin' buddies. (Only when not driving of course)

Next week I visit Lakewood Church, in Houston (with Joel Osteen). It ain't your grandma's service, for sure. I wanted to see why he has the largest congregation in America and his Sunday service viewed in 100 countries. Now I get it. The world is looking to be fed Hope!

Join me at their house, for Sunday supper.

Soon off to South Africa for another proud, proud day.

All 100% of first graduating class at my academy for girls have been accepted into colleges. 10% will be moving to USA for colleges here, so my mothering duties kick in full gear this year. With girls at my house during school breaks.

Never been to India, it's been on my vision board forever, going to film Deepak Chopra there for NEXT CHAPTER.

For each of you who's reached out in hopes of a response, I regret that I could not write a personal note but I do know for sure that the commonality in the human experience is a shared one.

Our journey is the same, though every circumstance is different.

We are all on a quest for Wholeness that comes with fulfillment and Grace, and a connection to something GREATER than ourselves. Whatever challenges you're facing, I know that your faith, resolve, and your Decision to get through whatever it is, is most important.

You alone are responsible for transforming your life. Which ultimately means seeing yourself as a human vessel for experiencing a deeper spiritual essence as a Being here on earth.

Every problem has a spiritual lesson. Get the lesson. Life gets better. Don't get it. And the lessons get harder.

Stop resisting what is. Either change it or find a way to move with the flow.

That is my new goal: to become what a Sufi teacher recently shared with me "A Feather on the Breath of God." Flowing where I can best be used in service to my calling.

So as I travel the world, and take on new challenges, and have days like all of you that rise and fall like the waves. I keep moving ahead, recognizing that no matter what the new year brings…all will be well. For this reason alone: "In God I Move and Breathe and have my Being" Acts: 17:28

Be Blessed Y'all
2012 Come on in!

Friends of Summer,

Can you believe it's August already? "Hot August nights with the leaves hanging down and the grass on the ground smelling so sweet"...thank you Neil Diamond. I always want to play that song this month.

I am digitally, technically, challenged but learned a great new thing yesterday.

Please don't LOL, but I did not know that you could play music wirelessly thru the speakers in your house directly from your iPad. And can upload movies directly to your tv screen and the movies maintain their HD quality.

I still think that iPad is a magic box.

I spent my first full week at OWN merging new staff with Harpo folks. Alignment is the first step in getting anything to work. We all had a great week. Although if you saw my tweet, you noticed I could use some better office furniture.

We're working on new shows for fall. ROSIE's on at 7pm ET/PT. I watched in awe this past Friday as she sat in a room full of critics, (Television Critics Association) and made them actually LOL.

OWN YOUR LIFE (the oprah class) will be at 8pm ET/PT. Sign up if you're interested in having a better life at Oprah.com.

By the way did you see the show SERVING LIFE on OWN it reairs this Wednesday night 9pm and 12am ET/PT. Produced and narrated by Forest Whitaker. If you didn't see and can't see when it reairs...DVR. It's worth your time.

I've been emailing Forest all weekend. I can't stop thinking about it. It was really, REALLY good. And a tough subject. But opened my heart and made me drop a lot of preconceived notions and judgment.

It is great television I'm proud to platform on OWN.

@Woodsy1069 asked me on Twitter yesterday if I was "frazzled" by OWN's performance thus far.

Nope, not frazzled. And I have faith that if I do what I'm supposed to—allow it to serve my purpose, and you, the viewer—it will succeed.

Everyone in the cable business told me it would take 3 years. Some said 5. I've been here a week.

Lorne Michaels, master creator/producer told me months ago, "it won't start to come together until you're there."

So I made myself CEO and now in the trenches with Erik and Sheri who've masterfully run Harpo, now also Presidents of OWN. We're uniting and building our team.

I will say this; it's 10 times harder than doing my daily show. Doing that show felt like breathing everyday. Now I'm in so many meetings I sometimes have to step out and catch a breath.

But I see every challenge as an opportunity. So no shortage of opportunities here.

I know the same is true for your life.
My experience is a network, yours is whatever is calling you right now.
Get clarity. Don't allow yourself to be overwhelmed. Don't be defeated by mistakes. Learn from them.
We have a new motto..."The next right decision"...what is it?

Onward!

Kelly Clarkson ~ Behind These Hazel Eyes/Because of You

I only need to prepare 2songs,but most likely only get to sing one. I'm thinking 2 very different type,so when I screw 1 up the other would be fresh. 1ballad&1pop. Can u help me pick?

Subject: Your emails

Hello friends,

I want you to know, the best gift you could give me are your wonderful words.
I've been sitting in cold, rainy, Chicago drinking Chai Tea.. (and yes splurged on a croissant) reading all your wonderful emails. I am deeply moved.

I also read Mark Nepo's Book of Awakening every morning as a part of my daily spiritual practice.

Lo and behold today's words for May 26th just happened to be
"BEING SAD".
( No coincidences)

The best thing for being sad, replied Merlin, is to learn something T. H. White.

"The idea here is not to divert the sadness, but to give it a context from life other than what is making you sad. Just as a ginger can lose its bitterness when baked in bread, sadness can be leavened by other life. When feeling the sharpness of being sad or hurt, it helps to take new things in. This pours the water of life on the fire of the heart. So when exhausted from expressing all that hurt, listen to music you've never heard of, or ask someone to tell you an old story from before your birth, or take a drive down a road near a ridge you've always meant to look out from. Look with your sad eyes on things new to you that will give you something to do with your sadness. Your sadness is the paint. You must find a canvas."

I hear so many of you saying you're sad to see the show leave.
Instead of sadness, I hope you will channel the energy of hopefulness you received from the show in whatever form it gave to you.

No sadness from me,
I look forward to my NEXT CHAPTER on OWN.

By the way Gayle's show will be on at 4 today on OWN saluting our last day. Stedman and Hugh Jackman are her special guests. Stedman who doesn't like to talk publicly about me; watch Gayle try to break him down and crack that code.

And Sheri Salata my show general talking about the process of "landing this plane".

Thanks for all your support and good wishes. After a visit to my mother. I'm gonna take a break, find some sun, and get some REST.

Don't think I'll be emailing on vaca. But will be in touch when I return.

Blessings to you all.

Best Of Meredith Grey's Quote from Grey's Anatomy

I couldn't said it better than this quote,I swear it's very amazing how I can relate to every dark&twisty thoughts that Meredith had.

This would be the one closest to my heart&soul.

"There's a reason I said I'd be happy alone.
It wasn't because I thought I'd be happy alone.
It was because If I thought I love someone and then it fell apart… I might not make it.
It's easier to be alone…
Because what if you learn that you need love…and then you don't have it?
What if you like it and lean on it?
What if you shape your life around it and then…it falls apart?
Can you even survive that kind of pain?
Losing love is like organ damage. It's like dying.
The only difference is… death ends.
This…? It could go on forever."

A great joke from Sex Jokes for iPhone !

After just a few years of marriage filled with constant arguments, a young man and his wife decided the only way to save their marriage was to try counseling. They had been at each other's throats for some time and felt that this was their last straw.
When they arrived at the counsellor's office, the counselor jumped right in and opened the floor for discussion. 'What seems to be the problem?'
Immediately, the husband held his long face down without anything to say. In contrast, the wife began talking 90 miles an hour, describing all the wrongs within their marriage. After 15 minutes of listening to the wife, the counselor went over to her, picked her up by her shoulders, kissed her passionately and sat her back down.
Afterwards, the wife sat speechless. The marriage counselor looked over at the husband, who stared in disbelief. The counselor said to the husband, 'Your wife NEEDS that at least twice a week!'
The husband scratched his head and replied, 'I can have her here on Tuesdays and Thursdays.'

Match~maker

When I was 8 or 9, I felt that I'm so blessed and using my "cupid's arrow", I started a match making service towards my classmates and schoolmates. I felt very confident about all of them, but I guess that was the peak. After lots of disappointing match~making results and 13years later, I had moved so many times(2homes change,6school later) and know bout 500people(according to my facebook friends)..

Nowadays,I feel very depressed(as in m life has no meaning of purposes). I can't even match make my friends to meet my other friends with similar interest in hope for them to be BFFs..

Recap of my life would consist of:
Most of times,I felt like I know everything.
Sometimes,I felt like I can do anything.
Few times,I felt like I'm doing the right thing.
A couple of times,I felt like someone understand me.
And only one time,I ever felt like this is where I belong.
But,never once I felt like I'm in love or otherwise.

I'm not sure of where I'm going with this(due to my roommates distraction). I guess its just another reminiscence from my past hitting me today.

Wish this post entertain your brain&Happy White Day.!

Personality & Health

My Results are:

1. This trait is indicative of a "builder" personality type. The builder has stress and sedentary traits. They are usually very popular and traditional, with a deep attachment to home, family and community. They are calm, orderly and detail-oriented. They are often consistent, loyal, respectful of the rules and protective.

If you have stress traits, you are also frugal and often stressed about finances, so you tend to be more prone to stress-related diseases, including heart attack or coronary artery disease.

If you have sedentary traits, you have an escalated risk of high blood pressure and type 2 diabetes.

2.This trait is indicative of a "director" personality type. The director has independent and workaholic traits. They are daring, direct, decisive, inventive and highly independent. They are skilled at analytical, logical thinking. They are emotionally contained, often assertive and competitive, tough-minded and efficient.

If you have independent traits, you tend to have fewer friends, leading to loneliness – a cause of premature aging.

If you have workaholic traits, you are more likely to eat poorly, fail to get regular exercise, and have a weakened immune system.

Take the quiz and find out what your health risk from your personality. I got the link here:

Good luck and stay healthy,
